Webserver - XML/SOAP - Email - JAVA Toolbox
The SEVENSTAX Web-server enables embedded systems to be accessed from any system that supports a common web browser. The server supports the HTTP GET- and POST methods and is capable to create HTML pages dynamically by using special HTML tags. Two typical examples for the use of the web server are the configuration of embedded systems via the Internet and the representation of measures values in a web browser.
The SEVENSTAX SOAP client enables embedded systems to communicate with web-services using the new Simple Object Access Protocol supported by major companies like IBM, Sun or Microsoft.
The SEVENSTAX XML (eXtensible Markup Language) parser & generator was developed to provide a resource saving and standardised method for exchanging data between embedded systems. As XML is a meta language it can be base for many different data exchange formats.
SEVENSTAX email enables embedded systems to send and receive emails. Characteristics of the SEVENSTAX implementation are:
- SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) to send emails
- SMTP authentication supported
- POP3 (Post Office Protocol Version3) to receive emails
- MIME en/-decoding to handle special characters and attachments
- modular structure by using separate POP3, SMTP and MIME modules
The SEVENSTAX email protocols can be combined according to the customers requirements.
The SEVENSTAX JAVA Toolbox makes web browser based user interfaces highly dynamic and much more interactive then traditional web page solutions. With a small piece of code at the server side and the SEVENSTAX JAVA TOOLBOX applets multiple data streams can be established simultaneously. In return user input may be transferred back. For example if a slider is moved at the web page the new state will be transferred to the server or embedded device immediately. The updated data can be transferred to a bar display or other applet and will be displayed at the moment
